I've always loved the Bing Crosby version of this song, but felt like the animals got a bad rap! So I wrote a version that honors the animals and also pays tribute to the astrological zodiac. A Ram is an animal with curly q horns He tends to be awfully headstrong His vital essence loves to start But to reach that finish line is a whole nother art! But whether you're a woman or a man You can thrust forward like a Ram! You can be steady like a Bull. A Bull can be happy with a sweet pleasant task And a roll in the soft and green grass He may be fixed on what he enjoys But he'll work hard without making a noise. Sure routine comfort can be dull. But you won’t mind if you’re a Bull! Then be sure to stop and see the Twins. Those mutable minds can't help but see from all sides. Or go on an imaginative ride. Sharp as a tack with a wit to match If they haven’t moved on already well they’re 10 steps ahead So you can try to keep up if you can Or allow a Twin to offer you their hand! See who will meet your tender heart. A Crab is a creature of both water and sand. Sometimes she gets stuck in the past. But when that tide pulls her to shore There’s no one better there to make you a home. So If you're feeling sad or in a pinch That Crab has got you from all ends! You know you could be like a Maiden. She gathers the fruits of this material world And hardly ever ends up in a swirl. Her knowledge can be oh so very diverse She's schooled in the details and can save you the worst! A Fish is an animal that knows how to be Fluid and one with the sea. His dreams are inspired and his heart is huge. He may be lazy but he knows how to intuit. So, if you wanna know the power of a wish Then you should get to know a fish! And when the Water Bearer pours you a drink Towards the future you start to think. And while those Scales may never seem fair While the Lion rules without care It is Ophiuchus who ○■s So you can be all of what you are And you can swing upon those Stars.
